Advanced workshops

Code Clinic

Code Clinic is a free program for students who want to go beyond AP Computer Science. Each session is a one-hour dive into professional topics such as neural networks, data analysis, containerization, or refactoring. Students leave with new tools, repos to explore, and a path toward self-directed projects.

Who Should Attend

  • Designed for intermediate and advanced students
  • Explore neural networks, data analysis, Docker, and more
  • Live online with occasional in-person deep dives
  • Always free to attend

Dive Into Professional Topics

Code Clinic offers one to two-hour masterclasses ideal for students who already feel comfortable in Java or Python.

Sessions are hosted live on Zoom with occasional in-person meetups for hands-on hardware labs. Instructors walk through real repositories, tooling, and production workflows so students gain experience with the same practices used by professional engineers.

Many attendees are preparing for internships, leading FIRST robotics teams, or expanding their portfolios for college applications. Alumni frequently mentor new participants, keeping the clinic collaborative and fast paced.

Recent Clinic Topics

  • Introduction to Neural Networks: review the math that powers modern AI.
  • Introduction to Codespaces: spin up full development environments in minutes.
  • Introduction to C++: add a systems language to your toolkit after Java or Python.
  • Introduction to Docker: package and deploy apps with industry-standard tools.
